Being College and Career Ready???

Okay, it’s time for a little fun.  This video is titled A Millennial Job interview.  If you are offended by fun being poked at millennials. view the person as being interviewed not as a millennial, but as someone that is a product of Common Core and other education reforms.  Is this what college and career readiness looks like?

It is a deceptive shame that the superintendent would say they are no longer using Common Core standards. Perhaps this superintendent doesn’t know any better as result of deception from OSPI. “Mathematics K–12 Learning Standards:
The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics are now the Mathematics K–12 Learning Standards, also referred to as “the standards”.” from http://www.k12.wa.us/Mathematics/default.aspx All it takes is to go to that page and make a few clicks to open up the standards document and see that it is the original official Common Core State Standards document. While OSPI changed the name for what they are calling them, they didn’t even bother to change the name on the document. The Washington Standards are the Common Core. One and the same.
